  1. Can I take my loved one out for the day?
    Yes, with Doctors orders that is definitely allowed.



  2. How can you keep my loved one from feeling abandoned?
    In addition to our excellent nursing services we offer a variety of activities designed to suit the needs of al our residents: ceramics, cooking, bingo, music, gardening, exercise and more.

  3. What are the visiting hours?
    Visiting hours are 11:00 am - 8:00 pm

  4. How many nurses per patient?
    By utilizing Certified Nurse Assistants, Licensed Vocational Nurses and Registered Nurses the combined ration of "nurse" to patient is 1 to 7. The actual RN to patient ratio is 2 to 30.



  5. What are the eligibility requirements for Medicare?
    You must be 65 years of age or disabled for at least 2 years. You must apply with Social Security.

  6. Can I keep my doctor once I come into Pacific Haven?
    Yes, that is up to the individual doctor.


  7. To whom can I talk to regarding my rights?
    Social services director is on site 5 days per week to answer any questions regarding Resident Rights, the Supervising nurse can answer questions anytime. A copy of Resident Rights comes in the admission package and there is a copy posted in the lobby and you can get a copy from the Supervising nurse any time, day or night.



  8. How often will my loved one see their doctor?
    Depends on what type of insurance you have and your medical condition.

    YES!

    SCAN, PacifiCare, Secure Horizons, Blue Cross & Blue Sheild.



  11. What type of clothing do they need?
    Your loved one may wear whatever they are comfortable wearing.

    No - refrigerators are not allowed in residence rooms. However there is a special refrigerator in the staff lounge for residents only.



  13. Are children allowed?
    Yes. Please bring them, we love to see them!



  14. Can I bring a dog or a cat for a couple of hours?
    Yes.
